Alytus prepares for the new academic year with community events

The Alytus education community is preparing for the start of the new academic year with various celebratory and educational events. On September 1, the Alytus Sodo Estrada will host a science and knowledge day featuring music, experiments, and creative activities for families. The Kaunas Kolegija Alytus Faculty and the Alytus Vocational Training Center will participate in the ‘Ateities alėja’ section, offering practical demonstrations in fields such as gastronomy, dietetics, management, kinesiology, and nursing.

Additionally, the Alytus City Municipality organized a celebratory event at the Alytus City Theater to honor local educators and school leaders. Mayor Nerijus Cesiulis and Vice-Mayor Kristina Daugelevičienė addressed the community, emphasizing the evolving role of teachers in the age of artificial intelligence and noting improvements to school infrastructure. During the ceremony, municipal leaders presented stationery coupons to teachers and issued formal thanks to educators for their contributions to the city’s educational community, including special recognition for psychologist Alma Golciene.
