Alzheimer’s Association holds annual walks to raise research funds
Communities across the United States held annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s events to raise funds for research, early detection, and support services for those affected by the neurological disorder.
In Duluth, Minnesota, participants gathered at the DECC and walked through Canal Park and downtown to support those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The event aimed to provide community connection and reduce the stigma associated with cognitive impairment.
In Raleigh, North Carolina, nearly 2,000 people participated in the walk to honor loved ones. Local officials noted the significant impact of the disease in the state, where approximately 211,000 individuals aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s, supported by roughly 388,000 caregivers.
