Alzheimer's awareness initiatives launched across Spain, Uruguay, and Mexico

Various organizations and communities held events and launched initiatives to mark World Alzheimer's Day, focusing on awareness, research, and support for those affected by the disease.

In Spain, CaixaBank and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation launched a nationwide campaign to boost donations for Alzheimer's research. Other regional activities included community walks in Granollers and Tàrrega, theatrical performances in Yaiza to illustrate the challenges faced by caregivers, and music therapy sessions in Ourense. Religious and social groups, such as the Hermandad de la Macarena, also hosted reflection sessions and film screenings to address the impact of memory loss on identity.

In Uruguay, the organization Atención de Alzheimer Paysandú (ADAP) concluded a month of awareness activities, including workshops and musical demonstrations. In Mexico, DIF Tamaulipas organized a conference series titled ‘Comprender para cuidar’ (Understand to care), providing neurological and psychological guidance to families and seniors to promote dignified care and early identification of symptoms.
