Alzheimer's support initiatives expand in Ecuador and Spain

Organizations in Ecuador and Spain are working to increase visibility and support for those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

In Ecuador, the Fundación TASE has operated for 15 years to address the lack of support centers for the disease. Current statistics estimate that over 100,000 people in the country suffer from dementia, with Alzheimer's accounting for approximately 70% of those cases. The disease affects an estimated 6% of the elderly population.

In Seville, Spain, the Asociación Sevillana de Lucha contra el Alzheimer (ASLA) has provided care for over two decades. The association offers cognitive stimulation programs, psychological and social attention, and specialized workshops for caregivers. To support these efforts, a portion of the proceeds from the upcoming XII Radiolé Awards will be donated to ASLA to assist families facing the challenges of the disease.
