Amalfi Coast police conduct summer traffic safety operations
Italian police conducted intensive traffic safety operations along the Amalfi Coast during the peak summer months from July 1 to August 31. The initiative aimed to ensure road safety and prevent accidents during the high-volume tourist season.
During the two-month period, authorities utilized 168 motorcycle patrols to inspect 1,199 vehicles and 1,469 individuals. The operations resulted in 454 recorded traffic violations and 136 sanctions for improper driving behavior. Additionally, 27 driver's licenses were revoked, leading to a total deduction of 775 points.
Law enforcement also focused on the physical and mental fitness of drivers, conducting breathalyzer tests on 207 motorists and drug tests on 30 drivers.
