AMANC launches cancer support initiatives in Veracruz and Michoacán

The Mexican Association for Helping Children with Cancer (AMANC) is conducting multiple initiatives to support pediatric oncology patients in Veracruz and Michoacán.

In Veracruz, AMANC is organizing the 14th edition of the “Corriendo por la Vida” race on September 20. The event includes a 5-kilometer competitive race and a 3-kilometer recreational walk or bike ride. According to AMANC Veracruz President Susana Lara, proceeds support families by covering transportation, food, lodging, and hygiene products for patients and their companions. The organization currently provides assistance to 178 families.

In Michoacán, the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), in collaboration with AMANC Michoacán, is launching a blood donation campaign from September 21 to 23. Under the slogan “Juntos somos más fuertes que el cáncer,” the initiative aims to secure essential resources for children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment. UMSNH Rector Yarabí Ávila González has called upon students and staff to participate in the drive.
