Amanda Seyfried rejects TV role due to frequent sex scenes

Actress Amanda Seyfried has announced that she is setting new professional boundaries regarding on-screen intimacy. During a panel at the Hamptons International Film Festival with Alec Baldwin, the 40-year-old star revealed she recently turned down a television role because the script required frequent sex scenes.

Seyfried explained that her perspective on such scenes has shifted as she has aged. While she previously found filming romantic or intimate moments to be fun and professional, she now expressed discomfort with the idea of being “naked with a stranger.” She noted that acting can feel “weird” as one gets older, particularly when required to perform romantic gestures with people with whom there is no real-life connection.

The actress also cited motherhood as a significant factor in her decision-making process. She mentioned that her children, Nina and Thomas, are now at an age where they are more aware of her professional choices, prompting her to be more assertive about her personal and professional limits. While she has not ruled out intimate roles entirely for the future, she stated she is currently “not into it.”
