Amarnath Yatra concludes as Chhari Mubarak reaches holy cave

The annual Amarnath Yatra has formally concluded following the arrival of the sacred ‘Chhari Mubarak’ at the Amarnath Cave temple, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas. Led by Mahant Deependra Giri, a group of sadhus and devotees trekked approximately six kilometers from the Sheshnag camp to the cave to perform traditional Vedic rituals and special prayers.

The 57-day pilgrimage, which began on July 3, saw more than 480,000 devotees visit the holy cave this year. Although the journey was briefly suspended on August 9 due to inclement weather and damaged routes, the formal conclusion was marked by the placement of the sacred staff before the natural ice Shivling.

To ensure safety during this final, high-altitude phase, various security and rescue teams, including the State Disaster Response Force, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, NDRF, CRPF, and ITBP mountain rescue units, were deployed to manage the difficult terrain and ensure an organized conclusion to the spiritual event.
