Amarnath Yatra Hits 4 Lakh Pilgrims Milestone Amid Security and Weather Delays
More than 4.14 lakh devotees have received darshan at the Shri Amarnath cave shrine since the pilgrimage began on July 3, 2026, crossing the four‑lakh milestone on July 26. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who also chairs the Shrine Board, thanked Lord Shiva and highlighted the achievement, noting the resumed journey after a six‑day suspension caused by heavy rain.
Pilgrims continue via the Baltal route, with convoys escorted under tight security, while the traditional Pahalgam route remains closed for track maintenance. The 57‑day Yatra is slated to conclude on August 28, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival.
