Amarnath Yatra continues under weather alerts and full registration slots

Pilgrims have begun the annual Amarnath Yatra, departing from base camps along the traditional Pahalgam route and the Baltaal route in Jammu & Kashmir. The Jammu & Kashmir administration reports that all registration slots are filled through July 9, and unregistered travelers will be stopped at checkpoint posts.

Bad weather is affecting the Baltaal route, causing disruptions to the pilgrimage. In the first three days, more than 13,000 registered pilgrims have been dispatched, and officials stress safety and orderly travel for those continuing on the Yatra.
