Amarnath Yatra security checks and Jio network upgrades roll out in Jammu & Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir police chief DGP Nalin Prabhat inspected security, traffic management and emergency response measures at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp and along the Amarnath Yatra route in Udhampur district. He directed police, CRPF and other armed forces to maintain heightened vigilance and coordinated public‑friendly policing throughout the 57‑day pilgrimage that began on July 2.
Ahead of the same pilgrimage, telecom operator Jio expanded its infrastructure on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. New mobile towers, portable Cell‑on‑Wheels, high‑capacity microwave backhaul and fibre links were installed to provide continuous 4G/5G coverage for pilgrims and support authorities' communications in remote high‑altitude areas.
