AmaWaterways launches AmaNubia, new luxury Nile river cruise ship
AmaWaterways announced the addition of AmaNubia, a 76‑guest luxury river vessel that will begin sailing the Nile in November 2026. The ship features 38 staterooms, including 15 suites, and interior design that draws on ancient Egyptian architecture and Nubian cultural motifs. CEO Catherine Powell said the new ship reflects growing demand for immersive travel experiences along the historic river.
AmaNubia will join the existing AmaLilia and a reimagined AmaDahlia, which is scheduled to debut in September 2026. A fourth vessel, AmaCleo, is planned for the fleet in fall 2027. The cruise itinerary combines river sailing with hotel stays and guided tours of Egypt’s major sites, such as the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, with Egyptologists on board to provide historical context.
The launch underscores AmaWaterways’ strategy to expand its presence in Egypt’s tourism market and to offer high‑end, culturally rich river cruises.
