Amazon Announces $48 Billion Investment in India
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and unveiled a $48 billion investment plan for India covering 2026‑2030. The funding will expand Amazon’s AI and cloud infrastructure, e‑commerce and quick‑commerce services, data centres, logistics and supply‑chain operations, and is part of a cumulative commitment that will push total Amazon investment in India since 2010 to over $88 billion.
Amazon says the program will create new jobs for young Indians, broaden access to cloud and AI services for startups and enterprises, and strengthen the country’s digital economy. The move underscores growing global confidence in India’s growth prospects and Amazon’s aim to deepen its presence in the fast‑growing Indian technology market.
