Amazon Australia increases Prime subscription fees by 30%
Amazon Australia has raised its Prime subscription fees by 30%, increasing the monthly rate from AU$9.99 to AU$12.99 and the annual fee from AU$79 to AU$99.
New subscribers are subject to the updated pricing immediately. Existing members will maintain their current rates for renewals scheduled before November 25, after which the new pricing will take effect on their first billing cycle.
Amazon stated the price adjustment is intended to support ongoing capital investments in local fulfillment networks, expanded fast-delivery geographic coverage, and an enlarged Prime Video streaming library. The company also cited broader delivery reach and Alexa+ access as factors. Despite the increase, the core service bundle remains unchanged, including Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, Amazon Luna gaming, and expedited shipping options.
