Amazon Prime subscription price increases

Overview

Amazon has announced increases to its Prime subscription fees across multiple markets.

In Australia, the annual membership fee is rising from AU$79 to AU$99, representing a 30% increase. While new subscribers are subject to the updated pricing immediately, existing members will see the new rate applied on their first renewal date on or after November 25. Amazon stated the adjustment is intended to support capital investments in local fulfillment networks, expanded delivery coverage, and an enlarged Prime Video library. This follows a lawsuit by the ACCC regarding alleged unfair contract terms related to advertisements on Prime Video.

In the Philippines, Prime Video subscription costs are increasing this November. The monthly plan will rise by ₱100, moving from ₱149 to ₱249, while the annual plan will increase from ₱1,390 to ₱1,669.
