Amazon co-founds Climate Pledge Fashion Coalition

Amazon, Stella McCartney, and Canopy have co-founded The Climate Pledge Fashion Coalition to accelerate the use of sustainable materials and reduce environmental impact across fashion supply chains. Supported by the World Economic Forum, the initiative includes more than 60 signatories, including brands, manufacturers, and retailers, all aiming to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

The coalition focuses on scaling next-generation fibers and manufacturing processes early in the product life cycle. By aggregating demand and utilizing new financing models, the group seeks to lower the ‘green premium’ associated with sustainable materials, making them more accessible to smaller and mid-sized brands. This approach aims to help innovators achieve the production volumes necessary to reach price parity with traditional fibers.
