Amazon France warns of fraudulent charges and phishing emails

A bank statement entry labeled “AMZ Digital FRA” indicates a charge for Amazon’s digital services in France, such as Prime Video, Kindle Unlimited, Music Unlimited or cloud storage. The charge often stems from a free‑trial that automatically converts to a paid subscription. Users are advised to review their Amazon account’s subscription list, compare dates and amounts, check for linked family members, and, if necessary, request a refund or secure the account.

Separately, a surge of counterfeit Amazon‑brand emails is targeting French consumers. These phishing messages claim problems with orders, product recalls, or urgent account verification, and direct recipients to look‑alike login pages that capture credentials and payment details. Amazon states it never asks users to confirm account information or upload documents via email. Recipients should treat any such urgent links as suspicious, avoid clicking, and report the emails.

Both advisories stress verifying the origin of charges and never providing personal data through unsolicited email links.
