Amazon increases Prime subscription prices in Australia and Philippines

Amazon has announced price increases for its Prime subscription service in both Australia and the Philippines.

In Australia, the annual membership fee will rise from $79 to $99. Amazon notified customers that the new rate will be applied on their first renewal date on or after November 25. The company stated the increase is intended to support the growing range of products and benefits available through the service, which includes Prime Video, Amazon Music, and free delivery. This price adjustment follows a lawsuit by the ACCC regarding alleged unfair contract terms related to the introduction of advertisements on Prime Video.

In the Philippines, Prime Video subscription costs are increasing this November. The monthly plan will rise by ₱100, moving from ₱149 to ₱249. The annual plan will increase from ₱1,390 to ₱1,669. Amazon is promoting the annual subscription as a higher-value option, noting that it reduces the effective monthly cost to approximately ₱139.
