Amazon MGM releases trailer for Sylvester Stallone biopic ‘I Play Rocky’

Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer for ‘I Play Rocky’, a biographical film detailing the origins of the classic 1976 movie ‘Rocky’. Directed by Peter Farrelly, the film stars Anthony Ippolito as a young Sylvester Stallone.

The narrative follows Stallone’s journey from a struggling, nearly bankrupt actor facing partial facial paralysis to a Hollywood success. The plot highlights his determination to write the ‘Rocky’ script and his refusal to let a major studio cast a famous star in the lead role, insisting instead on playing the character himself.

Following a positive reception at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival, the film features an ensemble cast including Stephan James, AnnaSophia Robb, Matt Dillon, and Toby Kebbell. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in November.
