Amazon MGM Studios begins search for next James Bond

Amazon MGM Studios has officially begun the search for the next actor to portray James Bond following Daniel Craig’s departure in 2021. The studio recently secured creative control over the 007 franchise through a deal with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

Key creative personnel have been attached to the upcoming film installment. Denis Villeneuve is set to direct, while Steven Knight will write the screenplay. The project will be produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman. While a successor to Craig has not yet been announced, producer Amy Pascal suggested that the identity of the new 007 could be revealed by the end of 2026.

In a separate development related to the franchise, a new video game titled ‘007 First Light,’ developed by IO Interactive in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, features Patrick Gibson as a young James Bond at the start of his MI6 career.
