Notably, Jack Barton, a British actor known for ‘Poor Things’ and ‘Heartstopper’, has emerged as a “surprising frontrunner” despite his relative lack of major leading roles.

By the end of August 2026, reports indicate that Amazon MGM Studios is entering a decisive stage, with the studio reportedly preparing camera tests for early September to further narrow the list of candidates. Production is slated to begin in 2027, with a target release in 2028.
