Amazon suspends 21 Air partnership after fatal Miami cargo plane crash FAST-MOVING
Amazon has suspended its partnership with cargo carrier 21 Air following a fatal crash at Miami International Airport on September 6. The incident involved a Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, operating Flight 7598, which overran the runway and struck several vehicles on the ground, including a van carrying cleaning workers.
The crash resulted in five fatalities and five injuries. Preliminary findings from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) indicate that the aircraft was approaching the runway at excessive speed and descending too sharply. Cockpit voice recordings revealed that one of the pilots had warned of the high speed shortly before touchdown.
In response to the tragedy, Roosevelt Sebastián Perdomo Torres, a survivor of the crash, has filed a lawsuit against Amazon, Amazon Air Cargo, and the aircraft's pilots, alleging negligence and strict product liability. Additionally, reports have surfaced alleging that 21 Air management previously attempted to discourage employees from reporting safety concerns.
