Amazon receives first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric trucks

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has delivered the first 27 battery-electric eActros 600 trucks to Amazon in Germany. This delivery is part of a larger agreement signed in early 2025 for more than 200 eActros 600 electric trucks.

Amazon intends to deploy more than 50 of these Mercedes-Benz electric trucks on German roads by the end of 2026. While the initial delivery is in Germany, the majority of the total order will be deployed in the United Kingdom. The vehicles are primarily intended for middle-mile routes, moving goods between fulfillment centers and urban areas.

The eActros 600 features a large battery pack and an efficient electric drive axle designed for long-haul and regional freight. To support this expansion, Amazon is investing in charging infrastructure, planning to install hundreds of heavy-duty chargers across its European locations. Under optimal conditions, these chargers can replenish the truck battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 70 minutes.
