Amazon launches new Alexa Tablets with Google Play access
Amazon has launched its new line of Alexa Tablets across several European markets, including Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This new generation marks a significant strategic shift, as the devices replace the previous Fire Tablet series and move from Fire OS to Android 16, providing full access to the Google Play Store for the first time.
The lineup includes three primary models: the Alexa Tablet 8 (8.7-inch), the Alexa Tablet 11, and the premium Alexa Tablet 12 Pro. The Pro model features an aluminum chassis, a 120 Hz display, and up to 16 GB of RAM, with an optional Nanomatte anti-reflective screen developed with Corning. The tablets also feature integrated Alexa+ AI, which can interpret on-screen content to assist users with contextual tasks.
In addition to the standard models, Amazon introduced two Amazon Kids Tablets (8.7 and 11 inches) and the Kids+ service. Prices for the new range start at 229.99 euros.
