Amazon unveils new Alexa AI tablets with Android support
Amazon has unveiled a new lineup of Alexa AI-powered tablets, marking a strategic shift from budget-friendly hardware toward premium devices. The new series includes the Alexa Tablet 8, Alexa Tablet 11, and the high-end Alexa Tablet 12 Pro.
In a significant departure from previous Fire tablets, these new models run on the Android operating system and provide full access to the Google Play Store, allowing users to utilize applications such as YouTube, Gmail, Netflix, and Google Docs. The devices feature integrated Alexa+ intelligence, which enables voice queries within apps, on-screen content analysis, and continuous conversational capabilities.
The Alexa Tablet 12 Pro features an aluminum unibody design, a 12-inch 120 Hz display, and up to 16 GB of RAM. It is available in a Nanomatte version designed to reduce reflections. Pricing for the new lineup ranges from $229.99 for the 8-inch model to $499.99 or $549.99 for the premium 12 Pro models. In Mexico, the tablets are scheduled to be available starting October 14, with prices starting at 3,999 pesos.
