Amazonas Public Defender initiates land mapping and legal residency selection
The Amazonas State Public Defender's Office (DPE-AM) is launching two distinct initiatives in the state. The Higher School of the Amazonas State Public Defender's Office (ESUDPAM) has opened a selection process for a legal resident position in Eirunepé. The role offers a monthly stipend of R$ 2,550 for a 30-hour work week, requiring a law degree. Applications are accepted via email from August 13 to August 21, 2026.
Separately, the DPE-AM has begun the 'Gente da 319' project to address land tenure issues along the BR-319 highway. Following a public hearing in Manaus, the project is moving into a mapping and territorial diagnosis phase for communities including Purupuru, Araçá, Igapó-Açu, and Realidade. This 36-month initiative aims to provide legal land titles and regularization for residents living along the highway who currently lack formal documentation.
