Amazonas students win national rocket competition

Three students from the 8th Military College of the Military Police (CMPM) in Amazonas won first place at the Jornada de Foguetes, a national competition held in Barra do Piraí, Rio de Janeiro.

The winning team, consisting of 9th-grade students João Inácio Brito, Josué Rique, and Victor Gabriel da Mota, achieved a rocket launch height of 239.7 meters. This performance allowed them to surpass 85 other competing teams from across Brazil.

The students qualified for the national stage following their participation in the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad (OBA). Under the guidance of physics teacher Luís Ricardo Pereira, the team prepared by constructing rockets and applying scientific concepts learned in the classroom.
