Amazonian fashion events showcase sustainable design and women‑led entrepreneurship in Brazil

The Senac Amazonas Faculty hosted a free Talk Moda Senac event in Manaus on 9 and 14 July 2026, highlighting Amazonian fashion, bio‑economy and creative technologies. The program introduced a new two‑year Technology in Fashion Design course covering AI, 3‑D modelling, bio‑materials and regional identity, and featured speakers such as Jessilda Furtado of Amazon Poranga Fashion, designers Bruna and Bruno do Carmo and indigenous designer Sioduhi, noted by Vogue Business among global sustainability innovators.

A day later, on 10 July 2026, the Favela Fashion show took place on Ilha do Combu in Belém, launching the "Travessia" collection created by 15 artisans from the Jurunas neighbourhood. Organized by Costurando Sonhos Brasil with support from the Azzas 2154 fashion group, the event emphasized sustainable apparel, female entrepreneurship and social transformation. Participants received training in cutting, sewing and business skills, and the head of sustainability at Azzas 2154 said, "Acreditamos que a moda tem o poder de transformar realidades".
