Ambassador Cruise Line to enter German market with adults-only ship

Ambassador Cruise Line, a British company, has announced plans to enter the German cruise market starting in summer 2028. The expansion focuses on a German-speaking audience with an adults-only concept.

The company will utilize the vessel currently operating as the Oceania Cruises ‘Sirena’. Once transferred to Ambassador, the ship will be renamed ‘Ambella’. The R-class vessel, which has a capacity of approximately 670 passengers, is scheduled to be handed over in early 2028.

Operating from the ports of Kiel and Bremerhaven, the Ambella will primarily offer cruises to Northern Europe and the Baltic region, with some summer voyages to Southern Europe. The smaller ship size is intended to allow access to smaller ports and provide a more personal service experience. During the winter months from September to April, the ship is expected to serve as a floating campus for Semester at Sea, managed by the Institute for Shipboard Education.
