Amber Eggers, ‘Love After Lockup’ star, dies at 41

Amber Eggers, a reality television personality known for her appearances on WE tv’s ‘Love After Lockup’ and its spinoff ‘Life After Lockup’, has died at the age of 41.

Eggers passed away on the evening of Thursday, September 3, at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Her mother, Monica Eggers, confirmed that the cause of death was acute liver failure. Eggers had been hospitalized several days prior after feeling unwell, and her condition deteriorated rapidly.

Eggers first gained public attention in 2019 during the second season of ‘Love After Lockup’ following a four-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. Her journey, including her relationship with Vincent Gonzalez and her close friendship with former cellmate Michelle “Puppy” Deaton, was a central part of the series.

In the months leading up to her death, Eggers had faced significant health challenges. In early 2025, her sister Erin launched a fundraiser to assist with medical costs after Eggers was hospitalized for severe pneumonia and a bacterial infection in her bloodstream. Additionally, Eggers had recently shared on social media that she had suffered a mini-stroke.
