AMC Global Media launches SELEKT Light streaming platform in Czechia and Slovakia

AMC Global Media has launched SELEKT Light, a free, advertising-supported streaming platform, in Czechia and Slovakia. The service replaces the former AMC Mikro service, which ceased operations on August 6.

Users can access the platform via web browsers or Android and iOS applications. While the service requires registration, it does not charge a monthly subscription fee. A single account supports up to five devices with a maximum of three simultaneous streams. The platform currently features a Czech-language interface.

The content catalog includes films, series, children’s programming, and various genres such as action, comedy, drama, crime, and westerns. Additionally, the service offers selected live sports, including UEFA Nations League, Europa League, and Conference League matches, the Champions Hockey League, and PDC European Tour darts.

AMC is utilizing Applicaster’s Zapp platform to power the service, providing a technical foundation that allows for adaptation across different markets. This launch follows the introduction of the SELEKT brand in Hungary, marking a continued expansion of the service within Central Europe.
