AMD Zen 6 architecture confirmed for AM5 socket

Technical documentation from AMD has inadvertently confirmed that the upcoming Zen 6 architecture will support the AM5 desktop socket. The leaked information identifies two primary product families: Olympic Ridge and Medusa1.

Olympic Ridge is expected to serve as the successor to the Ryzen 9000 series. While specific configurations are not finalized, rumors suggest models ranging from 6 to 24 cores, with individual chiplets potentially supporting up to 12 cores. Some reports indicate that Olympic Ridge models may lack integrated graphics, catering to users who utilize discrete GPUs.

Medusa1 is identified as an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) compatible with the AM5 socket, likely representing the Medusa Point series. Additionally, Medusa1 and Medusa2 are listed for the mobile FP10 platform. This confirmation reinforces AMD’s commitment to the AM5 platform, which is expected to receive support through at least 2029.
