Ameca Bridge reconstruction reaches 70 percent completion

The reconstruction of the Ameca Bridge on federal highway 70 in Jalisco has reached 70 percent completion. The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) expects the project to be finished in November.

Traffic modifications have been implemented as of September 22. Lanes in the Ameca–Guadalajara direction have been reopened for normal transit. However, lanes heading from Guadalajara toward Ameca are closed to allow for the demolition of the superstructure and the replacement of beams and slabs. Drivers traveling toward Ameca are being diverted to an existing side lane. Authorities have advised motorists to allow extra travel time and to follow all posted safety signs.
