Ameca Bridge reconstruction in Jalisco

Overview

The reconstruction of the Ameca Bridge on federal highway 70 in Jalisco has reached 70 percent completion. The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) expects the project to be finished in November.

Traffic modifications were implemented on September 22. While lanes in the Ameca–Guadalajara direction have reopened for normal transit, lanes heading from Guadalajara toward Ameca remain closed to facilitate the demolition of the superstructure and the replacement of beams and slabs. Motorists traveling toward Ameca are being diverted to an existing side lane.
