American Express Platinum Card Bradesco Review Highlights Benefits and Competition in Brazil

The American Express The Platinum Card, issued by Bradesco, remains a premium credit option in Brazil, offering 2.2 points per US$ on domestic purchases and 3 points per US$ internationally, with points that do not expire. Annual fees are around R$1,992 and include two complimentary additional cards. Core perks include access to Bradesco’s own airport lounges in major Brazilian hubs (São Paulo‑Guarulhos, Congonhas, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, among others), a broad network of partner lounges nationwide, and international lounge access via American Express partnerships such as Centurion Lounges and Delta Sky Club. Cardholders also receive concierge service, travel insurance, purchase protection, and extended warranty.

The market has become more competitive, with new premium cards from Caixa (Ícone), BRB (DUX), Santander (Unlimited), Altus Liv, and Bradesco’s own Aeternum offering similar or stronger rewards and lower fees. While the Platinum Card’s lounge access remains a strong selling point for frequent travelers, its points accrual rate is no longer among the most aggressive. Consumers are weighing the high fee against the combined value of lounge access, travel insurance, and rewards when deciding if the card remains worthwhile in 2026.
