American Horror Story returns on Disney+ with crossover season

Disney+ has released the 13th season of American Horror Story, marking the series' return two years after its 12th season. Creator Ryan Murphy has described this new installment as a massive crossover event, comparing it to the Avengers because it reunites characters and actors from previous seasons. Key cast members including Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, and Evan Peters return to play multiple iconic roles as they unite to combat absolute evil.

While the new season debuts on the platform, Nielsen data highlights a significant viewership trend among Generation Z. Despite the series launching in 2011 when many members of this demographic were children, Gen Z now accounts for approximately 36% of the audience for the first season, Murder House, and 35% for the second season, Asylum. Analysts suggest this interest may be driven by a fascination with the early 2010s aesthetic and fashion styles presented in those early seasons.
