American Horror Story season 13 announced as franchise-wide crossover

Creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the 13th season of the anthology series will function as a crossover event, bringing together characters and storylines from all previous installments. The season will feature the return of long‑time stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, each slated to reprise multiple roles, alongside a broader ensemble that includes Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman and new additions such as Paul Anthony Kelly.

Murphy compared the concept to the Marvel "Avengers" assembling, saying the goal is to unite the franchise’s most iconic faces to confront a new, overarching threat. The announcement was made during an Entertainment Tonight interview at the world premiere of the series "The Shards" on 27 May, with a scheduled premiere date of 24 September 2026 on FX.

The plan marks a shift from earlier speculation that season 13 would continue the storyline of the 2016 "Coven" season, instead positioning the new season as a celebration of the series’ decade‑plus history.
