AmericanFortress unveils quantum‑safe wallet proposal for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana

AmericanFortress has released a technical paper describing a post‑quantum security scheme called Zero‑Knowledge Proof of Seed Provenance (ZK‑PoSP). The approach lets existing Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana wallet addresses remain unchanged while replacing the traditional signature step with a zero‑knowledge proof that the wallet knows its seed. Implementation would require node‑level upgrades and the scheme is currently a proposal; its security is conjectural until tested against a functional quantum computer.

A broader market review notes that almost all major cryptocurrencies rely on elliptic‑curve signatures (ECDSA or Ed25519) that would be broken by a sufficiently powerful quantum computer. Only the Quantum Resistant Ledger currently uses a hash‑based, quantum‑resistant signature scheme. All other leading chains—including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Cardano, Hedera and Polkadot—have roadmaps but no live post‑quantum implementation, with migration timelines projected into the early 2030s. Some projects offer optional quantum‑resistant features, while others lack any effort.

The two pieces together highlight the emerging need for quantum‑resistant solutions across the crypto ecosystem and the early stage of practical deployment.
