Amersfoort police seek suspect in bank fraud investigation

Police in the Netherlands are investigating a bank fraud incident involving a man who used stolen banking details to make several large transactions on June 3. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage using Google Pay at a location on Utrechtsestraat in Amersfoort.

The investigation follows a separate phishing scam where a woman from Dirkshorn was contacted via SMS by someone posing as a bank employee. The fraudster convinced the victim to transfer 4,000 euros to an account before cutting off communication. The suspect in the Amersfoort transaction is described as a light-skinned male with dark hair, wearing a black vest, black trousers, sports shoes, a cap, and glasses with cut lenses.
