Aminuddin Harun refuses to sign Negeri Sembilan proclamation

Former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has revealed that he declined to sign a proclamation document dated April 19, 2026, during his tenure. He stated that he refused to sign due to serious concerns regarding the legality and the process followed under Article 10 of the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution 1959.

Aminuddin questioned why the current Menteri Besar, Datuk Ismail Lasim, signed the same document, especially after Ismail claimed his signature was obtained under duress. Aminuddin noted that his decision was based on legal advice, as the process required a full and complete investigation that had not been satisfied at the time. He emphasized that the public deserves clarity on the facts and the specific legal provisions involved, rather than general references to previous administrations.

The dispute involves the status of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the position of the Undang Luak of Sungai Ujong. Aminuddin also referenced a position by the Attorney General's Chambers suggesting the proclamation was invalid because it failed to meet the mandatory requirements of Article 10.
