Amit Shah hails Chhattisgarh progress and Naxalism eradication

Union Home Minister Amit Shah credited the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for the development of Chhattisgarh and the successful eradication of Naxalism. Speaking at the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav in Nava Raipur, Shah stated that while former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nurtured its growth.

Shah accused the previous Congress-led UPA government of failing to decisively tackle left-wing extremism and alleged that the party nurtured Naxalism for decades. He claimed that under the current central government, decisive action has led to a significant milestone, noting that the nation attained freedom from the insurgency on March 31, 2026. He credited the Central Armed Police Forces and the Chhattisgarh Police for restoring peace in the region.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also addressed the political landscape, criticizing the Congress party regarding compensation rows in Bastar. Sai argued that the previous administration lacked the resolve to fight the insurgency. Additionally, Shah inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Park at Peepal Van in Nava Raipur alongside state officials.
