Amit Shah unveils Atal Bihari Vajpayee statue in Rajasthan
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Rajasthan to unveil a 21-foot bronze statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Nimbahera on his death anniversary. During the event, Shah praised Vajpayee as an ‘ajatshatru’ (one with no enemies) who remained committed to nationalism despite decades in the opposition.
Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects across Rajasthan, totaling approximately 5,659 crore rupees in Chittorgarh and 6,453 crore rupees in Alwar. These projects aim to improve infrastructure, connectivity, and welfare for farmers and youth. In Alwar, he also announced that the local medical college would be renamed after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In his address, Shah criticized the Indian National Congress, accusing the party of neglecting the hymn ‘Vande Mataram’ for vote-bank politics. He contrasted the progress of central government schemes, such as water connectivity, with previous administrations, claiming the current government has achieved significantly higher coverage in a shorter timeframe.
