Amit Shah reviews Arunachal Pradesh flood with Chief Minister Pema Khandu
Central Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu to assess the severe flood situation caused by continuous monsoon rains. The floods have impacted 12 of the state's 28 districts, with thousands of people affected and three confirmed deaths in the Keoni Panayor district, where flash flooding damaged about 20 homes.
Khandu thanked Shah for his prompt attention and detailed the ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts, including road repairs, medical assistance and provision of essential supplies. A virtual review meeting was held with senior officials, covering the districts of Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, Keoni Panayor, and Kamle. The state also warned of continued heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and possible landslides through July 1, urging residents to avoid non‑essential travel in vulnerable areas.
