Amit Shah to move Kerala name change and co-operative bills in Lok Sabha
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to present the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026, and the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The former seeks to change the name of the state of Kerala, while the latter aims to amend the National Co-operative Development Corporation Act, 1962.
These legislative items follow the introduction of several key bills on Monday, including the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, and the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026. The parliamentary session will also include the laying of papers by various Union Ministers and the presentation of reports from Parliamentary Standing Committees, such as those regarding Housing and Urban Affairs and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
