Amit Thackeray and 25 activists booked in Pune for college disturbance

A case has been registered against Amit Raj Thackeray, president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, and 20 to 25 other activists at the Chaturshringi Police Station in Pune.

The charges stem from an incident at the Government Polytechnic in Ganeshkhind on August 31. According to the complaint filed by Dr. Rajendra Kashiram Patil, Thackeray and his supporters allegedly entered the college office without permission, caused a disturbance by shouting slogans, and threatened college staff and employees.

It is further alleged that during the incident, the group removed a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the office and took it with them. The police have filed the case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 120 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Investigations are currently ongoing.
