Amitabh Bachchan reveals family connection to Saif Ali Khan

During an episode of the quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Amitabh Bachchan revealed a family connection to Saif Ali Khan. Bachchan explained that his daughter, Shweta Bachchan, is married to Nikhil Nanda, the son of Raj Kapoor’s daughter Ritu Kapoor. Since Saif Ali Khan is married to Kareena Kapoor, the granddaughter of Raj Kapoor, the families are linked through marriage.

Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar appeared on the show to promote their upcoming crime thriller, ‘Haiwaan’, directed by Priyadarshan. The film, scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, is a contemporary reimagining of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam film ‘Oppam’. In the film, Akshay Kumar portrays a psychopath while Saif Ali Khan plays a visually impaired man.

Akshay Kumar shared that he prepared for his dark role by consulting friends in the police force to understand how they interact with criminals. Additionally, the film’s makers released a tribute to the late veteran actor Asrani, who appears in the movie.
