AMPYR Distributed Energy secures $194 million debt facility for European renewable expansion
AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE), a distributed energy solutions provider backed by AGP Group, obtained €170 million (approximately $194 million) in debt financing from Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Benefit Street Partners, the private credit manager of Franklin Templeton. The company will use the funds to acquire and develop distributed renewable energy assets, including solar and battery storage projects, across key European markets. CEO John Behan said the financing strengthens the company’s capital flexibility and supports its ambition to become a leading European distributed‑energy platform.
The new facility follows ADE’s recent acquisition of a 70 MW renewable portfolio from TotalEnergies and builds on a £50 million mezzanine loan raised in 2025. In November 2025 ADE also bought Shawton Energy to expand its UK‑based solar offerings. According to Mercom’s Q1 2026 Solar Funding and M&A report, debt financing for the solar sector reached $8.9 billion across 28 deals, up 154 % from the same period in 2025.
