Amsterdam Dance Event 2026 to feature expanded Australia House and major art installation

The 2026 Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will feature an expanded presence from Australia and a major large-scale art installation to mark the festival's 30th anniversary.

Sounds Australia, supported by the Australian Embassy and the ASEAN-Australia Centre, will host Australia House at Box Sociaal in Amsterdam's Jordaan district. Expanding to a three-day event from October 21 to 23, the hub will facilitate networking and business meetings for Australian artists and industry professionals. This initiative follows reports that Australian music exports reached $975 million in 2023–24.

To celebrate ADE's 30th anniversary, artist Boris Acket and Making Waves will present ‘EINDER’, an immersive art installation at De Centrale Markthal. Running from October 21 to November 1, 2026, the 80 by 25-meter textile installation uses light, sound, and movement to create an interactive environment. The installation will host a series of live performances, including a concert by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
