An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant project commences construction

The An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant project has officially commenced construction in Cam Ly commune, Bac Ninh province. The project, led by An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, represents a total investment of nearly 30 trillion VND (over $1 billion USD).

Spanning more than 66.4 hectares, the facility is designed with a capacity of 650 MW. Once operational, it is expected to provide an average of approximately 3.9 billion kWh of electricity annually to the national grid. The project is scheduled for completion and commercial power generation by June 2029.

Bach Dang Construction Corporation is serving as the EPC main contractor. The project aims to bolster energy security and meet the rising electricity demand in Northern Vietnam, particularly in industrial and urban hubs where demand has seen significant year-on-year increases.
