Overview
Vietnam is advancing several large-scale energy infrastructure projects to bolster national energy security and support economic development.
In the north, construction has commenced on the An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Plant in Bac Ninh province. Led by the An Khanh - Bac Giang Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, the project involves an investment of nearly 30 trillion VND and is designed to provide 650 MW of capacity. The facility is expected to reach commercial power generation by June 2029.
In the south, the Trị An Hydropower expansion project in Đồng Nai province is seeing accelerated progress. Managed by the Project Management Board of Power Plant 3 on behalf of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the 200 MW project has completed 100% of required land clearance and significant earthworks.
